By the time we finished up our breakfast and then he helped me put the kitchen back to rights, it had taken us longer than it should because keeping my lips to myself and my hands off his bare chest was too much to ask of me this early in the morning.

I finally had Tristan right where I wanted him, and I really wanted him to stay there. “So, what do you normally do on Sunday?” I knew he had a routine that he followed and that this weekend was disrupting his norm.

“Normally, I do house chores on Sunday. You know, laundry, yard work, and all that good stuff in the morning, then I spend a couple hours going through my cases for the next week and prepping for any meetings.”

“Okay, and what did you miss yesterday since you were here?”

“I usually devote pretty much all-day Saturday to River Gorge stuff. Right now, it’s the Fall Festival. Before that, it was West Fest. Next, it’ll be the community Thanksgiving meal, and then time to start planning the Christmas tree lighting. There’s always something I need to stay on top of with town business.”

“So basically, you’re working seven days a week.”

“I guess, but…”

“No, no buts. I get it. I do the same thing, but I think we can do better. Both of us.”

“There just aren’t enough hours in the day,” he said with a sigh.

“I know, but you have to take time for you, and if this is going to work, we have to make time for each other as well.”

“I will if you will,” he said.

“Believe me, baby boy, I’ll make time for you.” And I would. It would require some changes. Dane and I were going to have to have a talk. If I was going to balance my time with Tristan, my time at the horse rescue, and my regular patients, I needed some help.

“Well, before we make time for a movie on the couch, I need to grab a shower. I intended to do that first, but finding my super sexy Daddy in the kitchen making me breakfast distracted me.”

“Sounds to me like your Daddy needs to make that up to you with a shower you’ll never forget.”

“Never forget, huh? That sounds like a pretty epic shower.”

“Oh, it will be. Now get your gorgeous ass in there.”

I’m not saying I bought this house because of the shower in the master suite, but it sure didn’t hurt. It had multiple showerheads and was large enough for probably three people, which made it plenty big enough to share.

As soon as we got in the bathroom, I slid open the glass shower door and twisted the nozzle to start the water. I turned to find him leaning against the counter, watching me. I stepped closer and slipped my finger just under the waistband of his sweatpants.

“These need to come off.”

He licked his lips and nodded. Then he reached down and slowly pushed them down his legs.

“Fuck, you’re gorgeous,” I said, trailing a finger across his chest and down his abdomen.
